Few drinks scream summer in the South quite like cherry limeade. This recipe takes the nostalgic drive-in favorite and gives it a BBQ-worthy twist by adding whiskey. Sweet, tart, fizzy, and refreshing, the Cherry Limeade Whiskey Smash is a hit whether you are firing up the smoker, tailgating with friends, or enjoying a porch swing on a warm evening.
The “smash” cocktail style is all about muddling fresh fruit to extract every ounce of flavor. Here, lime and cherries create a juicy base that pairs beautifully with bourbon or rye. Top it with fizz and garnish with fresh fruit, and you’ve got a cocktail that’s as fun to drink as it is to serve.
