What a gem to find in Wharton!! Man at the ordering window was fabulous!! Great customer service!!! Awesome food!!!!! I received Veteran's Discount as well! I had the Friday Special. The brisket enchiladas covered with cheese and brisket and two sides. I had cabbage with brisket pieces and Mac N Cheese. Coworker had the Mac Daddy Brisket Burrito, with Texican Street Corn and Potatoes with Onions. Better arrive when it opens at 11 AM, before they sell out!

Definitely a 5 star all the way around! From the super chill rustic covered patio, excellent staff, and phenomenal food it is hard to beat corner barbecue like this. You can literally taste the mesquite sooo well it is insane. So good you do not even need BBQ sauce. I am not exaggerating at all. Amazinggg flavor! From the cabbage, loaded potatoes, loaded taters, turkey, and brisket. Everything was grade A! Tara who works there is super patient and guides you into what you will like. She also let me know about the various specials my ol lady and I love this place! Food, staff, and great atmosphere what else could you ask for? A++

Excellence Review for Damon's Real Texas BBQ - A Lifesaver for Gluten-Free Dining!Damon's Real Texas BBQ is an absolute standout when it comes to incredible food and exceptional service. As someone with a severe gluten allergy, I'm always cautious about where I eat, but Damon's went above and beyond to make sure I had a safe and enjoyable experience.A huge shoutout to Shelly, who was nothing short of amazing! She was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind, taking the time to ensure my meal was completely gluten-free and prepared safely. Her attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference, giving me peace of mind while enjoying my food. The fact that Damon's offers a gluten-free menu is a game-changer. Finding high-quality BBQ that accommodates severe allergies is rare, but they do it flawlessly. The brisket, ribs, and sausage were perfectly smoked and packed with flavor, and I never once had to worry about cross-contamination.If you have a severe gluten allergy or just appreciate outstanding BBQ and top-notch service, Damon's is the place to go. And if you have the pleasure of being served by Shelly, you're in for an even better experience. Highly recommended—I'll definitely be back!

I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this place until a couple of weeks ago, since they have been around for over two years, and it's so close! My wife and I decided to make the 30-minute drive to Wharton, and we're so glad we did. This is just a little place with a covered patio as the dining area, but don't let that fool you because this place is great. I had a two-meat plate with my traditional brisket and jalapeño sausage first meal. I had mac&cheese and a potato casserole as my sides. Homemade pickles and pickled red onions are free and recommended. My wife decided to try something different and got their brisket nachos. Everything was great! The brisket was the very tender, melt-in-your-mouth variety (even the bark was moist)! The sausage was homemade and larger than the normal links that you get at other places. It was very good and I liked that it wasn't over-the-top spicy. Both of my sides were well above average. My wife's nachos were also outstanding. The base of the "nachos" are freshly fried spiral potatoes, instead of corn chips. They are topped with shredded brisket, nacho cheese, sour cream, and BBQ sauce. They are more than a meal for one person, and I liked that there were so many flavors that not every bite was the same. The service was a little slow, but only because, just as we showed up, two other larger parties showed up at the same time, but it wasn't anything to really complain about. Somebody at another table ordered a sandwich called The Duke, which looked incredible. I'm not exactly sure what was on it, besides sausage, but it was the tallest meat sandwich I have ever seen. He said it was incredible, and I look forward to getting that next time I make that drive out to Wharton. That won't be too far in the future! Did I say it was under $20/person? That's pretty reasonable for good BBQ these days.
