YES. I was into this before I even walked in, but I was sold while being seated. Actually, I was sold after seeing a picture of the chicken fried steak online. Sold on this is where we should have dinner. Ironically I didn't even order the chicken fried steak. Though it was a bit lengthy to get the food, they did warn us shortly after ordering for the fried food. Gave us time to research the Pappas fame and legend I never knew about. Of course my son was tired and cranky from being at a Waterpark all day that he didn't eat his macaroni. One other person didn't like the various barbeque sauces because they are sensitive to the flavor of apple cider vinegar? Guess they wouldn't like NC barbeque for sure. My food personally was really good, perfect little spice Tennessee fried chicken. Houston isn't a place we really visit, so probably won't be here again in the near future but I would love to come back. It was very enjoyable. There were a lot of things I wanted to try...too many for one trip.

First of all, I want to say that the waitress Mary provided excellent service. The side dishes she recommended were all delicious, and she always had a smile on her face. She was very proactive in serving me—refilling my water and bringing me napkins without me having to ask, and she also checked if I needed anything else. Although my total bill was only $63.65, I was happy to tip $18.35!As for the food: They served the beef brisket with one fatty piece and several lean slices, which balanced the flavor and prevented it from becoming too greasy toward the end—highly rated. The pork ribs were tasty and worth trying. The pork belly was average.I also ordered a 6oz filet steak. The seasoning was great, but unfortunately the doneness was a bit off—it was overcooked, somewhere between medium and medium-well, which affected the texture. So I would rate the food 3.5 to 4 stars, and the service 5 stars.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy, but they seated us immediately. The inside had lots of decor that was super fun to look at like most barbecue joints. The waiter was very polite and the food was actually pretty fast. I would love to give this a five star, but the pork belly bites were kind of tough as if they were from yesterday's grill. Even though I love the cherry cola flavoring, the ribs and brisket were handed down my favorite. But the chicken and turkey were very juicy, the Boudin was a different texture than what I'm used to, but I know they are close to Louisiana, so maybe that is how it supposed to taste. The homemade pickles were amazing. The pork and beans are a must.!!!! I wasn't too fond of the mac & cheese very saucy. But the coleslaw was delicious. I would definitely go back there again.

It was a great place to get some pretty good BBQ for lunch. The prices were very reasonable. About $21 for a large plate of ribs and brisket along with 2 sides. We had their wings and pork belly bites also. Those were both pretty good. Portions are big enough to give you the meat sweats. They had a few different BBQ sauces. The sweet original BBQ sauce is good but the mustard was my favorite. You'll have to beg them for sauce to go. We had leftovers and asked for sauce to go and were told they sell it by the pint..um..ok....so we rephrased it and asked for just enough sauce for our to go food and the server brought us a couple small 1oz or so cups. The manager was continuously walking the floor, greeting people eating and was very nice. All in all, I'd go back and have it again if I was in the area. And wanted to stay under $35 for lunch.
