Brisket was delicious!! Juicy, soft, full of flavor. The place was welcoming and friendly. Customer service was great. However, the side dishes did not match the quality of the meat. Mac and cheese was a little bit cold and needed more flavor. Prices are above the average, however brisket was worth it.

I am in Texas for a long-term work assignment and trying as many barbecue places as I have time for. Terry Black's was recommended to me and I took advantage of being in Waco to try it out. I went on a Friday night, and although it was busy, I got served promptly by friendly staff. I had the brisket and the turkey, which were both moist and flavorful. The other stand-out for me was the cornbread muffin. Not enough BBQ places serve cornbread in my opinion, and Terry Black's has cornbread that has the perfect consistency and flavor. I like how they also have it set up so you can see the smokers, and the friendly employees there are glad to show you what they're doing. Terry Black is definitely near the top of my BBQ list in Texas!

Terry Black's BBQ in Waco might just be my favorite restaurant in town—and definitely my go-to for BBQ. The food was fantastic. Brisket was flavorful and juicy, and while I suspect it may vary slightly depending on what time and day you go, it was still more consistent than other Terry Black's locations I've tried. The Waco location itself is spacious, with plenty of seating and a layout that's easy to navigate. Even on a busy Saturday lunchtime, there was enough room for everyone without feeling crammed. Parking wasn't too bad either—you might have to circle the block once or twice, but that's expected when you're hitting one of the most popular spots in town.Service was excellent. The staff was friendly, smiling, and generous with the portions. I appreciated that they walked around making sure people were taken care of, and even delivered food to tables if something took a little longer—nice touch. I left a tip at the end because they genuinely earned it.A couple of small negatives: some tables were a bit dirty, and a few customers were trying to save seats by placing drinks ahead of time, which caused a little tension. But those were minor things that didn't take away from the overall experience. This is classic Texas BBQ done right—solid operation from top to bottom. Highly recommend.

No matter the location, Terry Black always has the best barbecue and staff. The entire team always makes you feel right at home. Consistently perfect barbecue. Love the pits are out in the open. All meats, sides, desserts, and even sweet tea are always reliable for a great meal. I like this location, the best because there's plenty of free parking and overflow parking, as well.

I have to say, we had a lot of locals telling us to eat here... they nailed it! We got the family meal for 4 and boy, it was way more than we could eat in even 2 meals. We got the beans, coleslaw, potato salad, cream corn and mac no cheese for sides. We had brisket (fatty and lean), pork ribs and turkey. The flavor was perfect. The seasoning was spot on and the cream corn & Mac n' cheese were my favorite sides. The beans had a chili flavor to them with some pulled pork thrown in for flavor. I'm just not a bean person. The potato salad did really well according to my wife. The coleslaw was fresh and crispy with a slight sweet flavor. Brisket and ribs were my favorite but the turkey was really great too. I am glad we saw what Terry Black's had to offer. It beats anything I've had so far. It's about a block from the silos and Dr. Pepper museum as well as Spice Village, so a big circular walk will you to the 4 best things to see in the downtown area. Make a day of it and you'll save on parking too. So much fun to be had in Waco.
