Pat's was the first place my dad went when leaving Trinity Mother Francis with me on the way out to Lake Tyler back in 1989. He took the scenic route and so should you for great BBQ! I have been to Pat's with my grandpa and dad more times than I have been anywhere else with those two. I cant wait until I am back in East Texas and can take my son for his first Pat's sandwich.

This out-of-the-way stop is worth trying if you like good BBQ. I had the medium plate with sliced beef and sausage, potato salad and coleslaw. My girlfriend had a chopped beef sandwich and potato salad. I added a side of peach cobbler, bringing the total the $25 and change, drink included. The meat was tender and flavorful, but the sauce in the to-go box mixed with the sides, masking the flavors. Sauce on the side next time! The potato salad was too thin for me but tasty. The slaw was sweet and tasty. The cobbler is a great finish for a good meal. The interior is smoky because the smokehouse is a part of the building. Fans keep the air moving but this is East Texas. Great people doing a good job!

It was a great restaurant with great people and excellent service. It is an old building but don't let your first impression make the decision for you. Go in there and enjoy the food. The meat was tender, excellent sausage, barbecue sauce was excellent. I added a little bit of Louisiana spice to it just to touch it up a little, but everything there was wonderful. Great people, great time, great service.

Wow... Worth the drive and worthy of the hype. I was so pleased with my visit. I had the brisket and sausage with beans and some other worldly potato salad. The large plate was $12!! The potato salad was absolutely delicious. I got a large to-go because it was THAT good. Meats were awesome, service was super friendly. Highly recommended.
