Most Honest review you'll read: this place is very nice, hands down one of the nicest properties in San Antonio. HOWEVER!!! Theres a problem....they need to take the word "Smoke" out of the name. They do not cook their meats with real smoke. You won't see a bbq pit smoke stack anywhere or smell real wood burning when you walk up. They don't even have a wood pile because they don't actually barbecue here. Their meats are roasted in commercial roaster ovens with liquid smoke flavoring and seasons to imitate a fake bark. It's sad to say but Bill Miller has better bbq and everyone knows bill miller is not even real bbq. Every side we had was sour- beans were spoiled and the brisket and chicken has NO SMOKE RING. Real smoked chicken is pink, roasted chicken is yellow. See my picture. This place is a great place to drink and mingle but it's not a BBQ place. That's the truth and the owners should be embarrassed to be calling this a BBQ place.

Came to San Antonio for a concert at the Alamodome. We wanted to eat an early dinner beforehand and Smoke Skybar was close by. Two of us ordered a brisket sandwich and turkey sandwich with a side and a mixed drink. Our other person ordered a plate. The turkey sandwich came out with brisket instead. Instead of taking it back, they told us to keep it and brought the turkey sandwich quickly. All were tasty and plenty of food, the sauce was really good too. Just one odd thing... we had ordered at the register initially, but when going back for a 2nd drink, was more or less ignored. Finally the same person who had waited on us first said we needed to order on the other side. No explanation, no sorry, or just going ahead and taking our order. I should also note there were no other customers waiting. I only took 1 star, but that kind of disservice to patrons needs to be addressed. All in all really nice atmosphere inside and as the afternoon moved forward a crowd grew. They advertised a new deck open, but it was really hot so we didn't go. It would probably be a great place in the evenings.

If you like BBQ, this is the place. I had the BBQ plate with brisket and ribs and a side of mac and cheese and potato salad. The meats had a great crust to them and were tender and moist. Even the sides were good, which is rare, I've found. The BBQ sauce is a sweet hickory flavor and matched the meats perfectly.

From the beginning, we understood that while planning a core life event(our wedding reception) not only the venue, but the people were going to be important in making a successful event. Smoke Skybar definitely delivered!! From start to finish the planning and hospitality was second to none. Adrian and his team have got this down to a science, and with all the hustle and bustle and event coordination on our end, I felt like it was really more like a shoulder to rely on. The location is great and easy to navigate around, as well as its proximity to all the events in SanAntonio. The food was excellent and the food service flawless. They have a wonderful photographer who's really got a great eye. Parking is easy. We had about eighty five guests. There's a full service bar and a full service kitchen, and a we're also able to accommodate vegetarian plates. The technology is wonderful. They had slideshows up for us as well as our personalized playlist the entire night. Thank you very much for making a memorable occasion for us.
