It was probably the worst brisket I have had in several years. It tasted like boiled meat, no flavor at all, no bark. There was zero smokiness to the brisket or to the ribs. The fat did not render at all. It just seems like they put it in the smoker for a few hours and took it out. I'm very disappointed. I always say that to me Rudy's is the standard for barbecue, anything worse than Rudy's is not worth going to because there is a Rudy's in pretty much every corner. This was honestly aweful. I would give it zero stars if I could. On top of that, I paid almost 40 dls. Truly bad.

A must stop if in the area, and if you're not, take the drive and experience this amazing food! There's plenty of seating, the indoor seating is air conditioned, and outside is shaded. We loved the corn and brisket!

Finding parking is tight. But getting inside to purchase your food is definitely interesting. All the employees were nice and friendly...The food was very 😋 😋 delicious 😋. Jalapeño sausage 😋 banana 🍌 pudding, also 😋 jumbo potato 🥔 😋 maybe a little more butter, definitely a must to add more. The brisket is good as long as it's not the piece with fat... or whatever that was. Yet the chopped brisket burger was awesome. It does come with pickles and onions. He also got some ribs and sausage. Hubby went back to get those after we had eaten the brisket turkey meal. Turkey was moist, 😋 😋 😍 we will return. The jumbo potato is a lot to finish for 1 person, but it is well worth it. The beans have a good taste to them and we ate them. The cream corn is something new to me but delicious.

Great staff. Had the cream corn and the beef brisket. Brisket was very tasty. Great flavor. Their specialty bbq sauce is also delicious. I grabbed a bottle to go. Have to say i was blown away by their cream corn. Didn't expect it to be as fantastic as it was. Phenomenal. Prices are very reasonable. I recommend

Decided to meet some friends at the original Rudy's BBQ located out off of Boerne Stage Road. This location has been here that I'm aware of since the late 1980s (~1989), when I first first visited it.If you're not familiar with ordering, basically, you enter, get in line, and pick a bottle drink out of an ice trough (if you want to bottle a drink). Otherwise, you let them know and get a fountain drink from inside (at the adjacent gas station).Quick note, they do give military discounts. When you're in line, first up is to order your sides, and then one of the cashiers will motion you to their line for your meat order. You tell them what kind of meat you want, whether it's sausage, chicken, turkey, brisket, etc..I normally order 1/2 lbs of lean brisket and get 1/2 lbs of turkey and a sausage link on the side sliced up.The sauce is very good. It can have a little bit of a kick or spice, but the flavor is good.I also decided to get some peach cobbler for my spouse who likes it. Next time I go, i plan on trying the banana puddingI've added a picture of the food that I have I purchased and look forward to going out to Rudy's again as they are definitely a main staple in San Antonio and the surrounding area.Note, on portions: On average, 1/4 of turkey yields 2 half sandwiches with bread and sauce. I generally take 1 slice of bread, add sauce, and add a couple of slices of meat. Then, fold and eat.I hope you choose to visit and your experience is as good as mine.
