Great experience, my son had ordered the tacos but the wait was long. Since we had a function at ASU, the nice lady suggested a brisket. We'll be back when in town.

I am so glad that I made the decision to find this restaurant,I travel this great nation and in a different town/city,and I seek out Mom and Pop owned,Roman Jr it was a pleasure meeting you,RJ BBQ is 3rd generation owned. The restaurant was packed, and after making my order of 18 bone in wing's with tator tots, Roman came out of the kitchen and asked the customer's how was everything, that's when I knew that I was in the right place. I ordered 18 bone in wing's, 6 with Texas gold, very good,6 with honey 🔥 hot, flavorful, and 6 Texas Heat very good for a dry rub,the taste and spices outstanding. If I could give 10 star's I would...

If you're lin San Angelo looking for a yummy barbecue lunch, this is a good spot. I enjoyed my lunch and the service was great If you're looking for great barbecue in the state of Texas, this is just a little better than average. Everything came sauced, which I would've preferred on the side . The brisket was tender, but I didn't get a lot of smoke or seasoning. The sausage was about average, maybe good in a complex sandwich but unremarkable by itself. The potato salad and coleslaw tasted like they were scooped out of a 5 gallon drum from Cisco foods, which is fine, just know it going in. I'm sure I'll go back on one of my frequent trips to San Angelo.

RJ BBQ is a hidden gem of tasty Texas style barbecue located in the city of San Angelo. Its flavors run true to what makes Texas barbecue such a treasure to eat. From the brisket to the ribs and everything in between. You can choose to have a sandwich, a meat combination plate, or just order the barbecue à la carte. As a rule of thumb, if they serve greens or okra, I usually try that first. If they can do that right, then the rest of the food should be divine. Which it most certainly was. The sides were a hit, some of the best southern style mac & cheese I have tried. The cobbler was good and piping hot. They lemonade was also a massive hit, and they offer free refills. Most importantly, the food lasts until it's gone, so definitely be quick if you are craving good barbecue before they run out.

Food were decent. Ribs weren't tender and don't fall off of the bones, mac and cheese was ok but i prefer more cheesier to this, the fries were flavorful. The best was the chicken wings. They were delicious. I can have them again anytime. The service was great and they were friendly. Small city vibe.
