2 things happened here on our first visit. First, we found my husband's greatest burger. And 2nd I met a dessert I've never thought about my whole life and now will never stop thinking of it. I always laugh when I pull into a gravel/dirt parking lot because I know I'm in for a treat. Johnny's is a vibe Y'all! You wanna eat in a sit-down restaurant with awesome vintage signage. Go ahead. You wanna head over to a super fun cantina setting and get the same food? Go ahead. You wanna do all that AND see a concert? This is the place. The Mesquite Burger quickly became something the husband couldn't stop talking about. To quote " 100% a 10 out of 10." The fried cheese curds were delicious. I fell in love with the pecan cobbler. I've never had or heard of pecan cobbler. I'm a pie freak so I figured it would be comparable. Wrong! It was amazing. It was sweet. It was gooey. It was cobblery. It was a perfect ending to a really great lunch at Johnny's. Shout out to our wonderfully helpful server, Faith. She was awesome.

A truly Texan BBQ stop! I had the Mesquite Smoked Ribeye and the Brisket Plate. Both meats were fantastic, by cut and cooking quality. The hand-cut fries were fresh, and my friend said his baked potato was perfectly cooked, with salt on the skin. Every room is filled with Texas memorabilia, giving the restaurant a feeling of rich and vibrant history. All employees were friendly and fast.

Today was a different day for the establishment. The bbq was awesome EXCEPT the chicken. The bbq chicken was tough so tough it could be a bouncer at the local club! The Server was great, and the atmosphere was awesome! It feels as if the food was hurriedly made and served. Food is usually good but not today!! Maybe today was just an off day for the kitchen..

The all-star of the meal was the pecan cobbler. Never heard of it before, but it was AWESOME! The bread slices were nice too, had a "fresh-baked" feel.We also had the pulled pork (not bad, but came sauced, so no control of that), brisket (was ok), sausage (delicious), cheese & jalapeño sausage (not as good as the regular, but not bad), turkey (disappointing, looked processed and tasted like dirty smoke), potato salad (just ok), and mac & cheese (creamy, but not a lot of flavor).Service was great, responsive and respectful.
