Consistent everytime and we have been going for the last 6 years. I get my favorite everytime chicken salads burrito. It really is the best! Very original and better then your moms chicken salad.
Banana pudding is sooooo yummy.
That is like heaven. If you are too full -Take it home. It comes in a little to-go container which is perfect.
The pulled pork is so good too.
You can tell Vic, the owner, cares about the quality of his food and he does not cut corners. Really one of the best bbq placed.
Close to Buda, Kyle, driftwood and dripping springs
Excellent BBQ! Loved every bit of it! Chopped Beef Sandwich was EXCELLENT.
Mac & Cheese was superb.
Lean Brisket was super moist & tender- definitely no-teeth approved.
Smoked Sausage was perfectly cooked.
Last but not least the Banana Pudding was AMAZING- it had the consistency of custard, (not chunky, no Nilla Wafers), and the flavor was sweeter than Créme Bruleé.
Been living in New Braunfels TX, 8 months! This place has to have the Tastiest brisket in the area! My fiancé loved the brisket queso! And lastly, the fresh made tortillas rival my moms home made tortillas, sorry momma!
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and I wasn’t disappointed! The owner was really friendly. He gave me a sample of the smoked chicken salad. I really liked the smoked flavor, but I am not a fan of nuts in my chicken salad. Great option you don’t see at BBQ joints though.
We tried the chips and hatch green chili queso with brisket which was delicious!
We also tried the brisket taco, which was HUGE! Really loved that he makes the tortillas fresh right then. I wanted mine plain (sauce and veggies on the side) so I could see how the brisket tasted solo and I am glad I did. The brisket was very tender with a nice bark. Definitely big enough to share, IMO.
The only downside was that the BBQ sauce wasn’t homemade. I understand the argument that great BBQ doesn’t need sauce but store bought sauce can RUIN great BBQ! I am glad I didn’t get sauce on my taco or I would have been disappointed. The store bought flavors would have canceled out the awesome flavor or the meat. So I hope the owner considers concocting a homemade BBQ sauce in the future. We will definitely be returning though!
I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the 1/2 lb beef wrap was—it exceeded my expectations! The flavors were fantastic, and the portion was just right. The service was also excellent, making the experience even better. If you’re heading to COTA for a 3-day event, I highly recommend making the quick 13-minute drive to Shugabees. It’s absolutely worth it!
