I don’t enjoy giving bad reviews and I know everyone’s taste in BBQ is different but here we go. The best part of the meal were the fried rolls, they were delicious. The brisket plate however was not. The brisket itself was incredibly tough and had to be sawed through with a knife. It had no flavor and no bark. The beans were like eating cooked onions and the potato salad was more like onion/bell pepper(?) flavored mashed potatoes. The photo attached to this review is what I left and didn’t eat. It might be me and the fact I’m used to smoking and eating central Texas style BBQ.
Location is at a busy intersection with interesting parking, so getting the vehicle in may take a moment. Walking inside, just seat yourself and someone will come to you to get things started. We ordered the chipped beef plate, sliced beef plate, and the combination plate. The in-house sauce was watery and lacked flavor, which was disappointing. Sliced beef had good texture, but lacked seasoning and moisture. Combination plate had some really good sausage, good texture ribs, just wish the ribs weren’t overwhelmed by the pepper. The chipped beef… no. Just no. Service was good overall, attentive and worked with us to get our chipped beef swapped out for something else.
Went to Lufkin with my dad and decided to eat here. Amazing service!!! The rolls are amazing. The potato salad is amazing. We both got the sliced beef sandwich and were not disappointed. We will be coming back again next time we are in town.
The atmosphere and interior is easy on the eyes. Lots of happy groups of folks sharing meals. Everybody takes the time to speak with you and check on you. Menu offerings are fantastic! Ribs 😋🤤 Went in for lunch w/ coworkers. Ordered the Classic Combo Plate. Everything was just right. You won’t leave hungry. Bringing my family in tomorrow. Highly recommend Lufkin Bar B Q

This was definitely worth it! Our server Laurie was super sweet and attentive. The food was amazing and the fried rolls were really good.
