This place is awesome! 🤩 We went to Lockhart with my family to enjoy the Texas capital of barbecue. We went to Terry Black’s and I was surprised with how good the beef brisket is! Soft, tasty and juicy!

We ordered 2-lb brisket with sausages and a lot of sides! All of them are really good!

Texan classic! I super love the vibe and the place. Outside seating and all. Medium sized place. Can be crowded but all in all, I had a great experience!
This place is great!! It’s better than I expected. I have always eaten at Blacks BBQ down the street every time I pass through Lockhart. But we decided to try this one out. It did not disappoint and might be our new usual BBQ stop in Lockhart if it wasn’t for the price. It is a bit expensive but then again what meat place isn’t. It was $66 for one beef rib. But the BBQ flavor on the rib was on point. Not too much smoke, a great amount of fat, and fall apart meat! The brisket was good too. Very juicy and tear apart while still holding together. The spicy BBQ sauce was our favorite. It’s a mustard based sauce that pairs well with anything they have to offer.
Best brisket and burnt ends EVER! Melt in your mouth delicious. We also get pork ribs which were awesome. All the sides were delicious as well.
You can tell this is a newer establishment, as it lacks the character and ambiance of more established BBQ restaurants. Could stand a good smattering of the antique signs on the walls – they’re pretty bare now. But you can’t beat the food!
I went with with brisket, pork rib and sausage. With a banana pudding at Terrry Blacks.
I spent a load of time in the pit room. Enough time that I met with two different shifts. Some really good chats and the guys were more than happy to answer any questions.
6 x 1000 gallon smokers that run 24/7 and only stop on Christmas day. They all run on post oak and another joint that uses Chief Firewood for their wood. Looks like quality wood and it reflects in the final product.
Solid meal with Central Texas style brisket done well, great pork rib with a little sweetness and not drenched in sauce. House sausage and Jalapeño & Cheder sausage also spot on. Banana pudding is dangerously good and I’m hooked.
Great food and some awesome chats.
If you’re searching for true Texas barbecue that hits every note from smoky perfection to mouthwatering tenderness, Terry Black’s Barbecue is the holy grail. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the rich aroma of slow-smoked meats that instantly tells you: you’re in for something special.
I went for the brisket and every single bite was phenomenal. The brisket is fall-apart tender.
What really sets Terry Black’s apart is their consistency and authenticity. The pitmasters here clearly know their craft, and it shows in every single dish. The staff is friendly, the vibe is laid-back but efficient, and the communal tables make it easy to soak in the whole experience with fellow BBQ lovers.
â Final Verdict: 10/10. A must-visit whether you’re a local or just passing through Lockhart,. Terry Black’s doesn’t just serve barbecue – they serve a Texas tradition done right.
I have been to the lockhart location for Terry Blacks many times and have enjoyed it every single time. The Brisket may just be the best I have had and the pork ribs are another good item. I like Terry Blacks better than other places because of the sides selection. Cannot go wrong visiting here
