I believe it is the best BBQ in the area. The brisket is tender. The pork ribs were very tasty. I had to take some to my son, and he said the same thing. He did, however, not like the mac and cheese. ðŸ™‚ This is now my goto spot for BBQ.ðŸ‘

The G Wagon has the absolute best bbq I've ever had! This is a G Spud and weighs in between 3-4 pounds, enough for 2 people! The brisket is so savory and full of flavor, tender, and literally melts in your mouth!We also love the turkey, nachos, sausage and ribs! The sides are always so fresh and delish!The experience you receive when you eat at The G Wagon is exceptional!There is absolutely no better bbq than The G Wagon!If you don't believe me, go give them a try!

SIDES MATTER. I tried 3 different items here, loaded potato. Mac n cheese with brisket and 2 meats (brisket & turkey) & 2 sides cheesy potatoes and potato salad. This was almost inedible. The cheese that is used on everything tastes like canned cheese, which is a taste I cant explain. The baked potato was gooped up with it, I could taste meat or the potato. The brisket had no flavor and just crumbled. It had no texture. The potato salad was just cubed potatoes with mayo. This was just the worst 45.00 I've ever spent.

Dropped in here recently because we really love good barbecue and I'd heard rumblings. Turned out to be beyond our expectations! We've sampled plenty of food trailer barbecue and been disappointed more often than not. G Wagon did not disappoint! We got a pound of brisket and some beans. The brisket was smoked to perfection with flavor throughout. It was fork tender and looked as good as it smelled and tasted. It was adorned with a nice red smoke ring and was cloaked in a delicious, peppery bark. It looked like barbecue ought to look! We've already been back several times and each round was just as good as the first! You definitely want to give The G Wagon a try! They now have a permanent location at 4270 East FM 436 in Academy, TX. It's about a half mile behind the Cefco Convenience Store at Academy's traffic light. As of 12/22/2023, Google maps has not yet corrected the location from the previous site.
