I used to go to Old House all the time 5 years ago when I lived close by. Something has changed for the worse since then. When we walked in, most of the booth tables were covered in plates and garbage. The ice cream machine had a mound, like 5 inches tall, of ice cream just piled up under the nozzle. The food was beyond bland. Everything. I didn't know it was possible to make brisket without flavor, but they did. And something like a third of my brisket on my one meat plate was just a giant glob of fat covered in tiny brisket bits. The rest wasn't sliced at all, it was chopped, like they intended to put it on a sandwich. The "loaded" mashed potatoes, also completely devoid of flavor. BBQ place mac and cheese is rarely great, but they some how managed to be subpar on even that. The "spicy" BBQ sauce was runny tomato water, again with no flavor. But then there was the worst example of poor service I have ever had at any restaurant. My son wanted a hamburger and fries. The picture of the burger and fries on the menu said it had cheese, but no other words on the picture. The picture showed toppings, but they also have a toppings bar out with pickles, onions, mustard, ketchup, etc. All he wanted was meat and bread. I told them no cheese and thought that was that.It came covered in other toppings. He might could have picked those off, but it was literally drowning in mustard. I mean, pouring down the sides and onto the plate drowning. I asked them to make another patty, just the patty, and the manager refused. We had just spent almost 70 dollars for three people, waited half the meal for the burger to even show up, and it was not edible for him. What's the restaurant's meat cost for a hamburger patty? A couple of bucks? And the manager couldn't even muster the courage to come and tell me himself that he was going to stiff me on that. Not only will I never go back, I have never been so motivated to write a negative review in all my life.

We have friends in the area and have seen this place several times, & it always smells good to drive by. Went near closing time, only one other party in the place that time of night.Service is cafeteria style, prices are average, food was a mixed bag. Ribs were good, brisket was dry and flavor was just okay, we didn't really care for the sides, but in fairness, it was near closing time, so it may have been better earlier in the day.

04/22/25 update: I have to downgrade my review. We had takeout yesterday. The chicken tasted like the liquid smoke was overused! Not good at all.Did a take out today! Lean brisket, bbq chicken, green beans and loaded mash potatoes! This place will not disappoint! Go try them out!

This is a personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own. The price may vary day to day, and an attempt to order through the online ordering didn't go through. I spoke to get brisket, chicken pulled pork and ribs, but I guess I will speak louder next time and actually get pulled pork, not extra ribs. The Mac and cheese didn't do well by my taste and was a lot to be desired. The chicken was juicy and delicious as well as the variation of sauce. Brisket was a little dry, and the ribs were able to pull clean off the bone with little effort.

Fantastic service. Hot, fresh and fast. I had the pulled pork with smoky beans and coleslaw. I'll be back to try other things.
