It had been years since I had been to eat at this establishment, and upon stopping by to eat today, I was reminded why I had quit coming. We showed up around an hour before closing time, and the choices of meat available were few. I had the super combo 3 meat, brisket, ribs, and sausage. The brisket and the ribs had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. And, when I say "no flavor," I mean not even the slightest hint of smoke flavor. The sides were decent. I had potato salad and beans. The staff were as friendly a they could be, and the business was clean. The amount that I paid was ridiculous for the less than mediocre barbecue I purchased. It wasn't this bad the last time that I dined here. It has gone way downhill from what "Cooper's Old Fashion Pit Barbecue" is supposed to taste like. Save your time and money from this joint. As for me, I'll stick to the Cooper's in Llano.

Stopped at Coppers BBQ on the way to Phenoix. The sticker shock is the reason for the 4 stars. Everything else was good. The portion sizes are huge. Honestly, we could have shared a plate. Lots of room, self-serve drink station, and playground for the kids.

We came pretty close to closing (about 8:30pm) and they were super accommodating and had lots of brisket left. The food was great and coleslaw was fresh - prices seemed pretty normal and affordable as well! Everyone was friendly and nice, but I know they were pretty tired since it was the ending of the day! The vibes were really nice and gave off a western/country/rustic feel!

Ugh. It hurts to write this about my favorite bbq place in the country, but I feel like I'm watching a family member self destruct. As a trucker I've been coming here once or twice a month for 15+ years so I know this place. The last 3 or 4 visits have been going downhill with today being the worst. I ordered a pound of brisket and probably got 1/4 pound of fat and inedible dried jerky. (See pic) It wasn't even sliced it was so mushy, it resembled chunks of pot roast. Also got a pound of sausage and he couldn't even be bothered with slicing it all the way through on every piece. Now I have to play sous chef with a plastic knife later for snacks. Each visit lately is getting ruined by the constant churn of new meat cutters up front that are not being trained properly to maintain a high standard of quality for the brand name. Please try to do better.

Food is good if you are looking for some BBQ. Not any type of OMG BBQ however. The service isn't that friendly and the prices are SUPER inflated. $13 fir a basic brisket sandwich is alittle much. They do. Nickle and dime you a little as well. Food is good and I recommend trying just keep in mind what was mentioned above.
