The brisket and rice here are simply amazing. The brisket was tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of marbling to keep it juicy. The rice complemented the brisket wonderfully—fluffy, flavorful, and not overly heavy.

What really took the meal to the next level was the mustard barbecue sauce—it added a tangy, zesty punch that paired perfectly with the rich, smoky brisket. And don’t skip dessert! The banana pudding was a showstopper: creamy, indulgent, and with the perfect balance of sweetness.

The portion size was generous, and everything tasted fresh and made with care. Whether you’re a barbecue fan or just love a hearty meal, this dish is a must-try. Will definitely be coming back!

Finally, I got a chance to try this spot out. There is usually a long line, and you may have to wait, and there’s a chance they might run out of some of the items on the menu, but it’s worth the wait, and there’s a reason they run out quick!

Everything I ordered, from the brisket, beef ribs, brisket fried rice, and all the delicious sides far exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be back. All the meats are very flavorful, juicy, and tender. The staff is nice and helpful.

The dining area is not huge, and it can get packed pretty quickly, but when you have good food, you will have a crowd!

Never have I ever given a place five stars all the way—but Brisket and Rice deserves it. I’m the kind of reviewer who needs to try a place two to three times before making a review.

The first time I went to Brisket and Rice was because I heard all the rave about it, and rightfully so—it deserves every bit of it. I ordered almost everything: the brisket and fried rice, half a pound of house sausage, the “coleslaw,” the mac & cheese, and the baked potato salad.

First, I want to say that the service is fast. The longest I waited both times was about 10 minutes, even though it was packed.

Now, let’s get into the food. The brisket and fried rice was delicious. Their fried rice has, I believe, Chinese sausage, chunks of brisket, onions, and something else I can’t quite figure out—but it is amazing. The brisket itself is nicely seasoned. With the fried rice, they give you a slice of regular brisket and a slice of moist brisket.

The sides weren’t my favorite. The coleslaw was good, but I couldn’t finish it. It wasn’t a traditional coleslaw, but it was still good. The baked potato salad was basically a regular loaded baked potato cut into chunks.

Now…the mac & cheese. It took me back to my public elementary school days. It’s funny because they actually call it “poor man’s macaroni,” which is hilarious because it reminded me of fish sticks and mac & cheese day at school. It was literally the same mac & cheese. It was delicious for nostalgic purposes, but I don’t think I’d necessarily get it again—not because it was bad, but because it just didn’t have much seasoning.

Another thing I love about this place is that they have Jones Soda, which is a delicious soda brand you don’t see everywhere. It’s the perfect drink to go with the meal.

Now, the picture I posted of my food is from my second visit. I got smart and asked for moist brisket and a quarter pound of house sausage. I didn’t get any sides because this alone was more than enough. Honestly, I was going to get just the fried rice because it’s so filling, but I figured I might as well get the two slices of brisket.

This place is really good. I hope everyone gets a chance to try it at least once in their lifetime!

I had an amazing meal! The brisket was incredibly tender and juicy, with a beautiful smoky bark and a perfect smoke ring. The seasoning was just right, enhancing the flavor without overpowering it. I also tried the brisket fried rice, and it was delicious—savory, well-seasoned, and packed with smoky brisket pieces that tied it all together. Everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

We were in the area and decided to check out the hype around this Michelin-starred spot—but honestly, we’re still trying to figure out where that star came from. The food was extremely greasy, especially the single beef rib we ordered for $35+, which felt seriously overpriced. The sides were small and underwhelming, though the rice was surprisingly good—subtle and flavorful. Overall, it’s a one-and-done for us. Also, not a fan of the Jones Soda. Not sure what kind of ‘quirky Austin vibe’ they’re going for, but it just doesn’t pair well with BBQ. Parking is very limited, yet the hype is still at an all-time high.
