Only open two days a week, for about 4 hours per day. Went by two hours after they opened and they were SOLD OUT and closed up shop. Do they not prepare enough food when they are only open 8 hours per week??? Disappointing and terrible ownership. They must hate making moneyTried again today, showing up earlier and they were sold out again. This establishment should be barred from serving on post if they aren't even going to have any food. Don't waste your time coming here, they will be sold out.

I LOOOOOVE the half chicken. But my upmost favorite to get is the Mac and cheese and Greens!!! I love some good savory greens!

The brisket was amazing. The jalapeño sausage is top-tier. The mac & cheese was OK but I will say everything was delicious and we will be back everything seasoned to perfection.

Ah yes, so I recently walked (as a man does, with legs) into Smellin Smoke on Fort Cavazos, just looking for a nice meal. Nothing suspicious here. I ordered the smoked oxtails, mac and cheese, and potato salad. Let me tell you, the oxtail? Insanely tender, practically falling off the bone—like it had some help, if you catch my drift. The smoky flavor was so rich, it was like a...a cloud of taste, hovering, watching. Delicious though, yes, very delicious. But here's the thing: $32 for oxtail? That's no accident. Oh no, they want you to pay that much. I mean, think about it—why so much for one dish? I bet there's more going on behind the scenes. Could be a secret plot to get us all hooked on smoked meats, or maybe...maybe they're using the extra cash to fund some sort of umbrella surveillance system? Just saying, it's something to consider.Anyway, conspiracy or not, the oxtail was worth trying at least once. But keep your eyes open—you never know what's really happening when you're enjoying a tender, smoky meal. I'm just a normal guy, obviously, but, uh, stay dry out there.

Sweet tea wasn't really sweet at all. The sides were for a 5 year old and the bbq sauce was the consistency as water/and tasted horrible. Also the guy at the window was very rude and didn't obviously wanna be there... 10/10 would NOT recommend. P.S i spent $50 on a sandwich combo and 2 meat plate! Way over priced for terrible food/service!!! I figured i give it a try it's a small business starting out but yeah think twice before waiting in that line... in the sun....
