We wanted to-go food and were thinking of driving all the way out to 407 and tried this instead. Wow!! This BBQ is delicious. We had turkey, chopped brisket and sausage. I can't decide what was better, they were all amazing. The turkey was cooked to perfection and has a peppered seasoning. The chopped brisket was lean which I loved. The BBQ sauce was great also. We met the owner who was super welcoming. Well done and we will be back soon!

We had the pleasure of taking a friend from Alaska for some True Texas BBQ. I knew just the place. He liked it and appreciated the atmosphere and service. Sure they were sold out of a few menu items, just shows those items are very good and popular. The staff does not just sell Atmosphere, they sell Experience, and that is what brings repeat customers back to Harold Dean. We will be back

The staff was super friendly. They were out of several menu items.. We had the Mac n cheese with brisket and Chico plate with brisket and 2 sides. Brisket was okay.. Mac n cheese was delicious.

Came back today to get some of their delicious bourbon smoked cheese cake with lunch. Get there about 11:20 and the restaurant is empty of patrons. My son tried the Andrew again, said it was a little on the dry side, but very flavorful. He ate all of it. I picked what they call the Chico Plate, one meat with two sides. I chose half chicken with fried okra and mac and cheese. Mine was also a little dry but very flavorful. I wish the mac and cheese had been a little more creamy. Tasted better during the first visit.Only one BIG negative, they didn't have any cheesecake made so that wasn't good.This was our first time eating here. We stopped in around lunch and were greeted with a relaxed atmosphere and big smiles from the staff. I had the Beck's Mac Bowl and my son had the Andrew. We took home the bourbon smoked cheesecake to share. Everything was delicious!! Definitely going to eat here again.

Harold Dean Smokehouse is an excellent barbecue restaurant during the day that transforms into a steakhouse featuring in-house aged beef at night. What a great addition to Flower Mound.My wife and I stopped in recently for lunch as we're always looking for great barbecue close to home. And everything we ate was well-made and quite delicious. Of particular note were the smoke brisket, that featured a dark bark and beautiful smoke ring, and the sausage which was smoky and perfectly seasoned.Additionally, I rarely see German potato salad and always order it since my mom made it this way. It was very good and a welcome food memory from my youth.We spoke with Aaron, who owns and operates the restaurant with his wife, and got to see the dinner menu as it was undergoing some edits. They have some beautiful aged beef in a display case and a variety of steaks, quail, and a few other things are the features of the dinner menu.The decor is clean, simple and charming. The large pecan-slab bar (that Aaron made) is both beautiful and well-stocked with all the normal favorites and cocktails are a feature.We'll certainly be back and look forward to trying those aged steaks with some friends soon.
