Unfortunately, did not live up to expectations. Salt lick came recommended by co-workers who live in Dripping Springs. Sausage was adequately flavored but a touch on the greasy side. Turkey was surprisingly most for white meat. Brisket was under flavored and to fatty. Beans were typical but good, Coleslaw was unique. I normally don't appreciate coleslaw but I liked this version. My friend who does normally like coleslaw did not like it. Said it was to subtle and bland. The pork ribs were a thing of beauty. Well cooked and most with a strong smokey flavor. The blackberry/peach combo cobbler was a show stopper. Very well done. Indoor dining is good for family or large groups but far too loud for a date unless you don't have much to say. Eason, our waiter, did a good job and was friendly. The wood tables and stone floors made for a rustic and upbeat vibe.

THIS MIGHT BE THE GREATEST TEXAS BBQ EXPERIENCE THERE IS. Every time I've gone to this mecca of smoked meats I've had a flawless dinning experience. Full disclosure there maybe a 20 minute to 1 hour wait for a table depending on your party size, but I firmly maintain that it is worth the wait. Every single time I order the FAMILY STYLE all you can eat Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Cole Slaw, Beans, & Potato Salad. My wife loves their pulled pork & blackberry cobbler w/ a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Did I mention that you are allowed to BYOB? I always roll up with an ice chest full of beer & this saves a fortune on drinks. There is also a bar on site if you're not packing brews like I am. Trust me this is what you're looking for.

Everything is fantastic about this place except the briskit. I only go to barbque places for the meats. The briskit lacked in my opinion - it is not top tier. The Salt Lick location/building is top tier and the service was great. It really id a massive site and you will be suprised how many people will be there. All you can eat option for 33 dollars a person is dangerous. BYOB as well for those that dabble in that but has plenty of local beers and wine for sale as well. I must go back as maybe they had an off night for the briskit but the sausage was really good - as good as anywhere really. Try it.

Salt Lick BBQ is a must-visit for any barbecue lover. For just $29.99, the all-you-can-eat deal is unbeatable — loaded with tender brisket, smoky pork ribs, juicy sausages, and classic sides like creamy cole slaw and perfectly seasoned potato salad. The brisket melts in your mouth, and the ribs fall off the bone with every bite. Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and the service is warm and welcoming. The rustic Texas vibe makes the experience feel authentic and laid-back. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot delivers on both quantity and quality. Great food, great value — Salt Lick lives up to the hype.

I drove hours to get here with high expectations, and while it's worth visiting at least once, there were some ups and downs. It's a cabin-style BBQ house with a unique vibe.1. Pricing The pricing is very reasonable, especially for the All You Can Eat deal, which is currently under $30—a great value for BBQ lovers.2. The MeatBrisket: Unfortunately, the butler kept serving us the dry parts of the brisket, which affected the overall experience. It wasn't as enjoyable as I hoped.Pork Ribs: The smaller pieces were delicious with a nice glaze, but the larger ones seemed undercooked and overly greasy. The oil even dripped onto my arm as I ate.Sausage: I'm not usually a sausage fan, but this one was excellent and definitely a highlight.3. Service I was hesitant about a BBQ place that isn't self-serve, but our server was attentive and quick with refills and orders, which made the experience more enjoyable.4. Location and Parking The restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. It worked as a small detour on my way from San Antonio, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to get here. On the plus side, there's plenty of parking available.Overall It's worth trying for the experience and the affordable pricing, but there's room for improvement in the food quality. If you're passing by, it's a decent stop, but I wouldn't make a long trip just for this.
