We have pretty high expectations when it comes to BBQ, and Howard’s met them!! The meats were all delicious and cooked perfectly. The brisket was so tender, juicy and flavorful it melted in my mouth! The jalapeno sausage had great flavor and was also cooked perfectly. The ribs were meaty and well cooked. They weren’t sloppy fall of the bone, but stayed together for a good bite. We also tried the chicken, which was flavorful, especially with the house bbq sauce which had a distinct honey flavor. I loved it!! I also loved the bar full of sides so you can choose your own. There was a fresh salad bar, along with 3 kinds of beans to pick from. Don’t miss out on the Cole slaw, probably the best cole slaw side I’ve had at a bbq place! There are apples in it, it’s so good! The potato salad was also tasty. Grab a slice of carrot cake for dessert, you’ll thank me later.
Stopped by the drive-thur for lunch. Service was quick and very friendly. Portions were big! Food was delicious and only compliant was the potatoe salad needed some seasoning. 💕
Classic Southern barbecue restaurant. Plates are a great value – one or two meats should do the trick (I liked the brisket better than the sausage), and you can fill you whole plate the rest of the way with veggies and other sides. Big fan of the butter beans and vinegar apple slaw.

Near downtown CC, rustic older building. Friendliest staff! Manager was there enjoying her lunch as well.
Lowest BBQ prices encountered in Texas, but doesn’t compromise the quality (3-meat with 3 sides for 16.95!!)! Beef short ribs are a must; brisket light but tasty bark, jalapeño sausage with nice kick. And the sides are self-serve with something for everyone from salads to three kinds of beans. Potato salad is excellent, with mustard kick.
Manager said they keep prices low to keep people coming in and folks employed…at these prices for this quality you can’t afford NOT to eat at Howard’s!
Who doesn’t love a place that has been a staple of Corpus Christi BBQ for a long time even our president thinks so! Fresh daily ! And the Best service in town hear guys know their stuff !
