Came here with my girlfriend for some Texas BBQ near our location. Due to high reviews it encouraged me to give it a chance to eat here. When we arrived it appeared as if the place was closed due to no one in the restaurant except us, and it was very low lit. The door was incredibly hard to open which also made it seem the place was closed. We were greeted by one gentleman, who we believe is the owner. The vibe was very quiet, with 70s TV re-runs on, 50s music, and the furniture and table settings were outdated. We ordered our drinks however he didn't offer any options in the sizing nor liquor served. For example, he served the 24 oz beer by default, and his top shelf tequila without offering any price differences. After that another couple came in and their dinner order was taken before we could place our order for meal. Also, he wore all hats as: greeter, server, bartender, Cook, busser, and cashier. Meaning even though he had a friendly demeanor, when it comes to delivering fast service it was lacking. I can only imagine how it would have been if it was busier. The menu only offered 1 page to choose from at the time we ordered. The options to choose from were very limited, lacked substitution and also had the sausage link and pork shoulder not available. All meals come with 3 sides, which if you don't want them, too bad. He had no brisket which he stated was too low a quality of a meat to offer. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were served. Fortunately the meal wasn't too bad, and it did fill us up, however the pricing and lack of options from the customer side is the reason for a low review. Additionally, the bathroom has little no soap (not good when you intend to eat with your hands). When we checked out, we were just shown the total amount due and not a price breakdown of what was charged. Hidden in the total amount was an included gratuity charge. Not to mention our drinks were crazy expensive, especially considering the margarita wasn't that great (for the size) and overall taste even though he greatly touted it. Overall, we left with a negative feeling about the restaurant. It has an antiquated look inside, but due to all the reasons above it's fair to say you could find better value, food, and vibes elsewhere.

The food was excellent, prepared & served by a most Gracious owner with kindness, humor, and expertise. Original coleslaw recipe was divine, none like I've ever had before. The personal attention was appreciated and the unexpected entertainment was Priceless!!! Next time I visit San Antonio I will definitely visit again. Thanks JT, TJ, I'm sorry, I can't remember exactly what it was 😞 but thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Choice BBQ found here. Dropped in the afternoon for sliced brisket and sausage plate. Owner prepared the plate himself and it came with a vinegar based coleslaw that was wonderful. Plate also came with beans and potato salad all sides were done right. Extra bread, pickles, and fresh cut onions were also provided. The brisket and sausage were amazing this also came with tasty bbq sauce. Owner was friendly and kept me entertained with stories. Highly recommended for sure!

Surprised this place isn't packed 24/7, Patrick was hilarious and the food was smoked to perfection. Tender, Smokey, but not dry. Definitely recommend!

Great food and the owner was a great story teller! He sure has lived a wild life but has a lot of wisdom from it. I ordered the beef shoulder and chicken plate. It was $25 but once I had a taste of the food, I forgot about the price! Everything has a fresh taste!
