I ordered the big plate with ribs, potato salad and baked beans. The ribs were not tender and the "baked beans" wasn't baked beans. It tasted like the canned ranchera beans. Yall could do better

If I could give this place a big fat zero I would! The price was extremely high compared to the portions they served! Most places are stingy with only the meat, they are stingy with it all, even the sides! I ordered the rib plate and was highly disappointed that I paid $20 for 7 little chopped up ribs into squares, the meat was fatty and that watered down barbecue sauce was nasty work! I was still hungry when I finished this 20 dollar meal! Don't waste your time, go to Kooleys Barbecue, that's my usual spot! I wanted to try something new today and ended up wasted 27.00 on some bull crap!

Having recently moved to the South Dallas area the closest bbq joint I would go to was Lockharts in Oak Cliff. Decided to try something in my immediate area and very happy I did. We got 2 of the 2 meat plates (See Pictures). Chopped beef and links and chopped beef and ribs. I was asked if I wanted my meats drowned in their bbq sauce to which I agreed but it is very saucy. So I will not be taking that into consideration with this review (will get sauce on the side next time.) Overall the meats were tender and juicy! My favorite thing though was their loaded baked potato! Highly recommend! Will definitely be coming back when I need my bbq fix!

Overpriced. The prices on the menu are blocked out. $18.39 (after tax) for the baked potato. They used dry bacon bits, didn't even use real/fresh bacon. Don't plan on returning! Food tasted good, but not worth the price. The do have a drive-through, though.

I recently decided to try Records Barbecue, drawn in by the promise of Texas-style barbecue. I ordered two rib plates, with sides of mac and cheese, and green beans, as well as smoked chicken with potato salad and, once again, green beans. However, my experience was far from satisfying, starting from the very beginning. The exterior of the restaurant, old and outdated, did not set a positive tone, and it only got worse when I arrived at the drive-through. The menu was difficult to read from the car, causing unnecessary frustration before I even placed my order. While the staff was generally friendly, the service was average at best. I spent five minutes waiting in the drive-through, which, although not an excessive amount of time, was a bit longer than I would have expected. When the food came out, I was immediately unimpressed. The presentation was messy, with tomato-based barbecue sauce spilling into the potato salad, and green bean juice scattered everywhere. But the real disappointment came from the main dishes. The ribs, which I had high hopes for, didn't taste smoked at all. They were tough and tasted watered down, feeling as if they were more bone than meat. Similarly, the chicken also fell flat (same as the ribs). To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. This was by far the worst barbecue I have ever had, and certainly the worst I've had in Texas. In conclusion, I regretfully will not be returning to Records Barbecue. Despite the friendly staff, the combination of poor food quality, average service, and an outdated exterior made for a thoroughly disappointing experience. I would recommend others to look elsewhere for their barbecue cravings. If I wasn't in a rush I would have asked for a refund.
