We were in Bertram for a little day trip and decided to have BBQ for lunch. The owners were welcoming and even pointed out the lunch special to us. We both got the brisket sandwich with pickles, jalapeños and onions with beans and potato salad for sides. The sandwich was delicious and the potato salad was fantastic. The decor also made us feel at home, very nice establishment all together (:

It was a great day to have their brisket sandwich!! So good. Thirty minutes later I went back and ate another one😆👍👍. They'll be at the Lampasas Rodeo tomorrow.

Since moving to texas ive been looking for good brisket (no brisket in the UK) and i saw their food truck in lampasas, this has to be the best brisket in the state, it's amazing and the people working are lovely! It's been an absolute joy eating here!

Chopped barbecue sandwiches were nasty! Smelled terrible when we got the barbecue handed to us in the bag, stunk the whole truck up. Way over smoked, kind of tasted like starter fluid in the barbecue smoke. Almost like they leave it on the barbecue pit for days and just reheat. The bottom bun was so oily it just turned into mush. The pickles and onions were two or three days old and had been sitting out all day you could tell they weren't crisp or cool. A dog barked at us through the metal fence the whole time we sat there.

This is my experience at the Mayfest Carnival. It was a red food truck. I asked to order a brisket sandwich for $12. She says it's $13. Extra $1 dollar for what? I give her my credit card and she says "oh, that's an extra $3". Why am I being charged $16 for a $12 single sandwich. The other reviews people posted speak for themselves. Told her to give back my card and left. Happily got a smoked brisket sandwich, smoked sausage sandwich, two chips for $19 just right down to House of Smoke with their smoker they towed. These people do not take pride in their food. Doubt it's even smoked. Be prepared to get robbed legally.
