Ordered Thurman's Choice (brisket, sausage, pork ribs) and the Pulled Pork Combo (pulled pork & turkey), which came with bread, coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans. The brisket was perfectly cooked- tender, and flavorful. The sausage was a standout too, I highly recommended it. The ribs were fall off the bone tender! Pulled pork was solid and satisfying. The turkey, however, was a bit on the dry side. Sides were classic and complemented the meat well. Service was a bit off, staff kept approaching us mid-meal, which was a bit disruptive, but once we paid, they were nowhere to be found. Overall, great barbecue with a few service quirks. I would come back for the brisket and sausage alone.

I was quite looking forward to eating here, as I've been to a different location once and recall it being very good. But the initial wait, extra wait, and more wait for food was long and the food underwhelming. When we arrived, it wasn't super busy but we did get an estimated wait time of 10-15min, which ended up being more like 20-25. Saw a group that arrived after us seated before us too. Then after being seated, we waited another 10-15min before being greeted by our waitress. During this time, I saw 2 other tables seated after us get waited on and food orders in.After putting in our order, I stopped timing, but we waited what felt like another long while before getting our food. During this time, I saw the other 2 tables receive their food, and joked that they'd be done eating before we got our dinner. Our food finally came, and despite the fact that by then, we were starving, it was underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but I've had better BBQ in north Texas. The wet brisket wasn't as soft and tender as it should've been. The pork ribs were good. The sides were mediocre. And the $4 uncharge for mac and cheese wasn't worth it.I wouldn't recommend TSL based off of my experience. But if you do go, hopefully you have a better experience! The 2 star vs 1 star is cause the pork ribs and the mac and cheese (but not worth the upcharge) were good.

This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint at all. Our waiter Colton was amazing and friendly. Also the food was amazing and it came quickly. The only down fall was the sidewalk and the entrance to the restaurant is not wheelchair friendly. If yall couldn't make less bumpy and smooth it out that would be great!

4.1 Stars, First time here, good tasting BBQ, had the beef and bison ribs, they were very tasty. I liked the bison better, had a different taste that was pleasant. Sides were good also, the slaw was slightly different taste that was tasty, potato salad was also good and had a different flavor to it. Pecan pie was different also, they told me they use butter scotch as a base in the pie which gave it a different less sweet flavor that was addictive. Presentation of food was nothing like what they post on media. Instagram @foodieadventuresusa

The Salt Lick BBQ - Amazing Staff, Disappointing FoodI want to start by saying the staff at The Salt Lick BBQ were absolutely incredible! Our waitress was wonderful, and the overall atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The kindness of the people there truly stood out and made the experience enjoyable—at least in that regard.Unfortunately, the food itself was a huge letdown. We were expecting bold, flavorful barbecue, especially in a place known for its Austin BBQ reputation, but it just didn't deliver. There was little to no seasoning, and the flavors were underwhelming. We didn't want to make a fuss, so we quietly left and ended up throwing our food out as soon as we walked out the door.If you're looking for exceptional service and a great atmosphere, this place has it. But if you're after truly flavorful, well-seasoned barbecue, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
