This is our first time. I ordered pork belly bites, my husband got the brisket sandwich, a side of bacon mcNcheese, my son got pulled pork!. Omg, this is good!!! Wouldn't mind going back for more. 🥰

My opinion is just based off personal preference and I am not from here. I did not know (but, maybe should have expected) that all the food would be sprinkled with cilantro (aka flakes of soap). It ruined everything for me. The corn was an unusual texture, but I'm told that it is normal. My fiance had the Dino-rib and he said it was it had too much black pepper. Otherwise he liked it. I'd like to go back and try other dishes, but will be sure to ask for NO cilantro!

We found this BBQ place through social media. Please check them out through TikTok under Texican BBQ Company to see their different types of food. For parking, you can park in the front, by the curb or in the back. As you enter the BBQ restaurant, to the right of the building is a drive thru and an outdoor seating area. We were welcomed with hello and welcome to our place. You order in the front and then seat down to eat. They have seating to the left and in the back. Plenty of seating available. The food we ordered was the Brisket Sandwich, Buffalo Ranch Melt, armadillo bites with sides of mashed potatoes, street corn and bacon Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! Meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. Award winning brisket and best bbq in Brownsville. We had the chance to interview the owner of this establishment. Go check it out.Follow me on TikTok under rgv_recommends,IG and Google for more food recommendations.

Our next stop in our BBQ journey has taken us to Texican BBQ. Words of caution: parking is minimal/nonexistent. Order: Armadillo Bites- Steak meatballs stuffed with cream cheese and Jalapenos. Sadly, dry. The sauce drenched could not save the appetizer.Chicken Bowl- The veggie ingredients were fresh, but the rice was dry/clumpy. The chicken was decent.Brisket Sandwich- The BBQ was dry; only thing that kept it moist was the sauce, which is not ideal. The corn stole the show.Cost: $51.71In this case, the portions were plenty, but the flavor was not at par with the cost. Branding and promotion were on target, but the taste was way off. Honestly, for the price, it was disappointing. However, the staff was excellent and super friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant but seems like we just paid for the experience, not the food. Not sure if to return, but willing to try if in the neighborhood again.
