Great food, friendly staff, clean restaurant, and decent prices. The brisket was nice and moist, the ribs were heavenly, and the chicken was amazing. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was the sides. The mac and cheese is just boxed velveeta, and the beans in the texas caviar were tough and dry.Overall great experience, would recommend

I don't know what happened. I've had Roegles before at another location and it was not like this. I don't know if it's because we went right at 11am when they open the doors on a Thursday but my friend and I both had the driest brisket. This has to be the driest brisket I've ever had anywhere. You can see the individual meat fibers flaking off. The sausage was dry, too; don't know how they managed that. One slice of the pork belly was good, the other slice was dry.Bbq sauce was good. The fries were really good. Frito pie was good.I'm shocked and am actually looking forward to trying it again in the future to see if it was just a fluke.

I've been waiting for quite a while to finally try this place. I've been going to Rudy's for the past decade and love that place. Everyone says Roegels is the best BBQ place in the area which could've been true at some point in time. Today however I ordered the brisket plate and my brisket didn't have the signature smoke ring I have seen in other review photos. The biggest disappointment was that it wasn't moist. Quite dry actually. You'll be able to notice in my photos. I never had that issue at Rudy's. Spending more on Akaushi beef doesn't mean much if there's no quality control. I've also been getting used to the bread slices at Rudy's but it is absent here. Sides are definitely better here than Rudy's. Potato salad is excellent, but not the best out there. Rudy's potato salad is garbage. Cornbread casserole is amazing and easy to make and I wish Rudy's did that. Rudy's has better service. I'm not complaining about the staff at Roegels since they do their job, but Rudy's is just way better at customer service if that makes any sense. Other than that, this might be my last visit here unless I can get a guarantee that my brisket will have the smoke ring next time. Charging a premium is a risky business if you can't maintain quality and customer service. One piece of advice, train everyone in the store to say hi to everyone that comes in and smile, that's it. That would be the first step to changing the first time experience for anyone.

First time at Roegel's and won't be the last. The cashier and all the staffs were all in smiles, helpful and very friendly. We ordered the Meat Sweats (3 meat choice) and price is definitely better than Brett's. Their RIBS were AWESOME. We like dry rub, sweet type of ribs, and this place has the best ribs I've ever had. It was moist but has the top crust that was so good, not hard or chewy, but has a bit of a crunch on the first bite, while the meat under that crunch were so tender. Their bbq sauce is so good too, sweet and a bit of tangy but not sour. Their pork belly was so delicious, super soft and flavorful. And the fries!!! The crispiest and best tasting fries I've had for a while. I can hear the crunch as I was biting to it, but not hard or dry. My son loves the fries so much, we had to order a second round. Now, as for the brisket, We did not really care for it that much, even though it was so moist, it was like like butter soft, but the flavor was lacking. The smoked wings was ok, there was a taste of bourbon or beer and we prefer the regular smoked wings, no alcohol taste. Their cornbread pudding is the BOMB, and so is their bourbon pecan pie. We really like the decor, not too dark, not too bright, just right. The seats could be further apart, but it did not bother us. I think Roegel's is the best BBQ hands down in Katy in terms of RIBS, pork belly, fries and cornbread pudding. We will come back and try the sausage next time. Kudos to all the friendly staffs.

I saw this place on "The Texas Bucket List". We arrived about 11:30 AM, the line was short and the service was quick. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We came on a Thursday because that is the only day you can get the Ruben and it was worth the wait. The corned beef, sauerkraut and dressing are made in house. Another unique item at this place is the bologna sandwich. The bologna is made from brisket and pork butt and smoked. The baloney has a different texture than what you are normally used to. Additionally, you can buy the baloney by the pound and take it with you. After I had the sandwich I had to bring some back home with me. The side dish we got was the cornbread casserole, which is much like a sweet cornbread with some whole kernel corn in it, we really liked it. A new item on the menu was the Keylime pie pudding. This had a mild Keylime taste to it, and was not harsh at all. I found this to be a refreshing end to our meal. I look forward to trying some of their other menu items, but we will definitely be back for the Ruben and the baloney.
