We were in Chappell Hill for a quick visit and decided to take the family to LJ's for lunch. This was my third time trying them, and I was excited to finally get in after some past scheduling mishaps. I arrived around 12:30 and was pleasantly surprised—plenty of parking, almost no wait, and everything was still available except for peach cobbler.We all ordered similar meats, and I got to sample the brisket, regular links, and pork ribs. The brisket was absolutely amazing—one of the best I've had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, it practically melted in my mouth. The ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, and I'd definitely recommend them. The links were also quite tasty, though I personally prefer them a little more coarse. They were a little greasy, but hey, it's sausage—I'd rather have it on the juicy side than dry.For sides, I went with macaroni and pinto beans, but I also tried the collard greens, coleslaw, and potato salad. Everything was delicious, except for the coleslaw, which I found a bit too bland and vinegary for my taste. But the rest of the sides were fantastic.And of course, I had to finish off with a serving of banana pudding, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal.LJ's definitely lives up to its reputation as one of the best BBQ spots around, and I'll absolutely be back for more. Highly recommend it if you're in the area!

This was by far some of the best BBQ I've had in Texas. Turkey was delicious, brisket was so tender it was like cutting butter. The sausage was without a doubt some of the best I've EVER had. This place MUST be on your list if you're headed through Brenham.

This place NEVER dissapoints, they are always the kindest people, and the food is always phenomenal! I love to get the fatty cuts of the brisket because, FLAVOR, and the mac-n-cheese, I always get double if available because it's that damn good!!! If you live in Brenham, driving through Brenham, or just visiting Brenham... you have to eat lunch at LJ's BBQ! Literally the BEST BBQ in the state of Texas! Typically, I order their Mac n' Cheese and Brisket bowl ... Absolutely the best thing to order on the menu! Once in a while (like today) they have the most amazing brisket tacos with salsa and guac on top as one of their daily specials! These brisket tacos are the BEST! Follow their Facebook account for updated daily specials. Don't forget to grab some of their banana pudding too! So good! I've also had mostly everything else on the menu and it's all phenomenal BBQ!Lastly, the service and owners are incredible people. They are always so friendly, kind, and personable. They treat everyone like family!
