I absolutely loved my meal at Leroy and Lewis! The L&L Burger was juicy and full of flavor, definitely a must-try. The pimento cheese appetizer was creamy and delicious, a perfect start to the meal. The cornbread was warm and just the right amount of sweet. The barbacoa was tender and packed with flavor, truly a highlight. Highly recommend!

While the wait was long (2 hours), it was well worth it. It's the best BBQ I've had. The brisket was incredible, melts in your mouth with amazing full beefy flavor. The grain bowl and kale slaw slides were the perfect balance for the rich flavors. If you make your way here I recommend coming early (by opening time if possible). We were there at 11:20 and they had run out of beef cheeks, which looked incredible. Will be back

trying to understand how they've earned a Michelin star. The food is good. But don't think I got to try it at its best due to the counter service process. 1.5 hour wait. They plate the sides and it sits for a good 8-10 mins before cutting the proteins. In the end, you get to your table and your food is cold. Atmosphere is great and their beef cheeks have great flavor, but I think they need to fix their counter service process and wait time. Please correct me if I'm missing something....oh but their cheddar cheesecake is a winner. So damn good.

Overall, it definitely worth a visit. I was told to arrive 15 min before opening (10:45 AM) and only a few people were ahead of me. I think it took 15 min to start placing my order.I've tried several items on their menu and some were incredibly good. What I liked: - Beef cheeks: smoky, tender, unique flavor. I highly recommend it. - Beef brisket: great brisket- I enjoyed both the lean and the fatty side. I would say its om the same level as Black Terry's and Franklin. Flat iron: less fatty and more meaty flavor. A great option if you want something not traditional in the BBQ scene. - Tiramisu: they also added their touch. A good pair with the meatOther items I ordered: L&L Burger: I've seen a lot of reviews about it, but I was not impressed. It is rich in BBQ seasoning and meat tho. Barbacado: chopped brisket on top of an avocado. Maybe it would have tasted better if the meat was mixed with the avocado? There were plenty of seats and the service was amazing.

This has been a week where we can't get enough Bar-B-Q. We headed to Leroy and Lewis Barbecue in south Austin. This is a standout spot that blends Texas tradition with bold creativity, and it's no surprise they earned a Michelin Star in 2024. I visited with my brother-in-law and son, and we sampled a spread of brisket, beef cheeks, pork hop sausage, and jalapeño cheese chorizo sausage, paired with chori-papas (chorizo potatoes) and kimchi. The counter-service setup is simple—you move through a line to order—but the food is anything but ordinary. Everything was solid, but the beef cheeks were the star: tender, smoky, and bursting with flavor, showing why Michelin took notice. The brisket was juicy, the sausages packed a punch, and the sides—especially the chori-papas—added a hearty, spicy twist. Even the kimchi brought a fresh, tangy contrast that elevated the meal. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable, with a casual vibe that suits a family outing or a laid-back lunch. The staff keeps things moving smoothly, and you can feel the care put into every dish. That Michelin Star, awarded in 2024, underscores their innovative approach—pushing BBQ boundaries with unique cuts and thoughtful pairings while keeping the quality sky-high. It's not just hype; it's earned. If you're in Austin, Leroy and Lewis is a must-visit for BBQ lovers who want something familiar yet fresh. The beef cheeks alone are worth the trip, but the whole experience—from the food to the welcoming space—makes it clear why this place is now Michelin-starred. Get there early for the best selection!
