The food was tasty and cooked perfectly and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered the juicy brisket, smoked turkey, hatch chili mac, and beans. The brisket was tender and came with a beautiful crust. The turkey was recommended to me by the staff and I'm glad they did. It was probably the best turkey I've ever had. It was smokey, juicy, and surprisingly tender. The sides were both really good and stood up on their own. They were both seasoned well and were cooked with complimentary ingredients like onions and hatch chilis. The breezeway next to the building was nice and shady and made for a nice spot to enjoy everything.

This review is for my first visit on Saturday, March 1, 2025. We showed up right around 1:00 PM for our first visit. Not terribly crowded. Super friendly greeting as soon as we got in. Friendly ordering, and the whole place was really clean and well kept. We got the 2 meat + 2 sides plate, and the smoked turkey sandwich + 1 side. 2 drinks. Even after a nice tip, this was right around $50 bucks. Honestly, I feel like this was a great value. The brisket was just about perfect with a nice bark, thin and well defines top fat layer (not too much at all), and nice smoke ring. Juicy, not dried out. The house made sausage had nice flavors, and pronounced black pepper, which I enjoy. The regular mac and the hatch chile mac were both just fantastic. The corn elote was spicy and I suspect might have had just a touch of cayenne thrown in there. We sat outside in the semi-covered open air space next door, and it was a great place to enjoy our lunch. This is a solid 5 star BBQ place. Now, I live in Fort Worth, and have lived my whole life with Angelo's as the standard, later Railhead and more recently Heim and Terry Black. I even served on a team for a number of years making and serving brisket and sausage and beans. I feel like I am qualified to say "this is really good BBQ". Hill City is easily in my top 3 of all Texas BBQ that I have traveled to. I will continue to support them, and look forward to many more trips. Thanks guys!

Hometown BBQ at its finest. Now this is some BBQ, intentional service and manners from staff. Amazing options so there is no way you won't get something. I think that's the only "issue" is I went and wanted everything. Plentiful amount for a great price and the meat is melt in your mouth Texas BEST.

Truly great BBQ! The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the staff is friendly. It checks all the blocks. Briskets was moist and the jalapeño sausage was delicious. Potato salad was creamy with a mustard base. Definitely coming back soon.

Been to around 40 of Texas Monthly's recommended lists and these guys are one of the top places. Great brisket and ribs but appreciated the quality they had in more challenging meats with turkey and bologna. Also great homemade sides and awesome dessert. Great people who are starting a new family and people you really root for in life and business. Go check them out if in the area or make a nice drive on a weekend.
