We loved everything about Flatrock Smokehouse BBQ. Everyone working there was very nice, polite and helpful. I ordered ribs for my family and brisket for myself, but they ended up eating most of my brisket because it was so good. Luckily, there were plenty of ribs to go around, and they were delicious, too. I also really enjoyed the sides, especially the mac and cheese having brisket mixed in, and the okra was great. They are family friendly and either veteran owned or the owners have family in the military because they are supportive of active duty military and veterans.

Coming back to give another updated review. I used to love this place and the last time I ate here seemed to be a one off. Fast forward and I got it again yesterday and confirmed it is not a one off. The ribs and brisket were phenomenal that I had for superbowl Sunday and boy have they fell off.The ribs were extremely fatty and tasted old. Temperature control for food is obviously out of whack. They didn't bother to trim the ribs I see. The brisket (my favorite meat) was soooooo dry. I wasted my money for sure. Oh and the Mac and cheese is terribly runny.First pic of me holding the ribs is from a few months ago and the other pics are from yesterday. I actually won't be returning.

To serve bbq in Texas, you need to get it right. This is the best bbq I've had in years. The chicken and pork were perfectly moist and flavorful. The baked beans have the perfect amount of spice/ just a little kick. The Coleslaw was tangy and flavorful. Don't forget to save room for cobbler. Our options were peach and apple. We went for the apple. It was warm with cinnamon and flaky pastry pieces. The best part was the friendly service. They take pride in what they serve you, and it shows. The food is delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the following weekend.

Stay away from, no run from the brisket mac and cheese. It was runny cheese and undercooked noodles. If you visit on a Friday, be sure to get the catfish. It was hot, crunchy, and delicious. The chicken was awesome!I've heard of surcharges for eggs and other items when they are scarce. But this is the first time that I've seen a surcharge for a cup of water. Take a look at my receipt under the heading of Drink Otions, and you will see what I'm talking about.

It was hard to choose, so we ordered quite a few things! LOL!! For the most part, we enjoyed everything! I love the way they deconstruct their baked potato!!! I've never seen it prepared that way! Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the peach cobbler, so wouldn't get that again. 😕 The owner came out to talk to us, and he was so welcoming. In fact, his entire staff is extremely accommodating and has phenomenal customer service!!!!!#BlackOwned 👑 🖤
