We came here for dinner last night and we were pleasantly surprised with the food. It is certainly an experience. You select your meat at the open pit grill outside of the restaurant then go inside to select your side dishes. I got the jalapeño and cheese sausage and she got the brisket. Both were delicious!! I got the potato salad and beans. I was not pleased with the potato salad as it was a very strong vinegar based flavor. The beans were excellent. She got the jalapeño macaroni and cheese which was very good!! They offered several cobbler options but unfortunately we didn't get them. I highly recommend Coopers BBQ if you are going to Llano. You won't be disappointed.

If you're chasing real-deal Texas BBQ, look no further than Cooper's Old Time BBQ. Hands down, this is the best open-pit barbecue we've ever had — and we've tried plenty. From the moment you walk up to the massive pits and pick your meats right off the fire, you know you're in for something special. The staff is friendly, fast, and clearly proud of what they do — and they should be. These are true BBQ masters at work. The meats? Unbelievable. Juicy, smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. Whether it's the brisket, ribs, sausage, or that legendary pork chop, every bite is straight-up perfection. The sides were solid, too — great complement to the main event — and the sweet tea? On point. Cold, refreshing, and exactly what you want with a tray full of smoky goodness. The whole place has a fun, laid-back vibe where you feel like part of the family, even if it's your first time through the door.Cooper's isn't just a meal — it's a Texas BBQ experience you'll be talking about for a long time. Worth every mile. Worth every bite. 10 out of 10, no question.

I wasn't sure heaven existed—until I met the cobbler. One bite, and I was a believer. Hands down, the best cobbler I've ever tasted. Pro tip: don't choose between the apple and blackberry—get both. They're divine. The smoked prime rib? Absolute standout. The rest of the BBQ? Solid, but not life-changing. Still, that cobbler alone earns this place a strong rating.

We were a little confused about the process at first, but these folks made it easy to understand. The food is amazing and the people are friendly. It isn't cheap (mostly because you will want a little bit of everything), but it is oh so worth it.

We heard about so we stopped by for lunch after hunting. Parking is tight but you can park along the road. There was a huge fire tower getting coals ready with ashes falling like snow. We entered the restaurant at the front where a large hot pit is holding all of the uncovered meat. That is a problem. We felt the meat was dried out / overcooked. The ribs were overcooked and one side was complete fat. The brisket was overcooked and again, one side was complete fat. These should not have been served. Huge disappointment for expensive Texas bbq. The cheese sausage was ok. We tried goat for the first time and it was really good. The drinks were pour own. The tea was good. The sides were barely large than a condiment container. I haven't seen a side that small, anywhere, ever. Why serve such a small amount for the price. The coleslaw, beans and potato salad with pimentos were ok. The au jus sauce was sweet, salty and tangy. We tried it and it was okay. Have to decided if we will go back. So many other places in town. 3 people, $90.
