If you are starving and need barbecue.... It will do. But overall not a recommended place. It has nice people but is a result of few choices in the region. I ordered a 1/4 lb sliced brisket and hotlink. Not quite sure that the brisket actually would have been 1/4 lb. The brisket was mediocre quality and not very moist. The hot link was decent. Two slices of cheese and a soft drink and it was over $20.The cheddar slices were actually very good.Seems a bit expensive for the provided seating and lack of atmosphere or amenities. The restroom is one you'll have to walk outside and around the building to get into from the outside.Seems to be a classic case of overpriced Texas barbecue that doesn't live up to its pricing. If you can wait... I'd recommend driving to Tyler or Jacksonville to have more choices .

We have dined at this restaurant before and enjoyed our meals, but our experience today was disappointing. The service was inadequate, and the quality of the food did not meet the standards we had come to expect. The employee who served us seemed indifferent about taking our order and appeared annoyed when we inquired about the side dishes. As a result of this experience, I will not be returning to this restaurant and cannot recommend it to anyone in Tyler, Texas, especially since it used to be known for its good meals.

We were on our way home from Beaumont, and it was lunch . I saw this barbecue stop...so I made a U turn and went back to get something. You pull up and walk to a window to order, and then when your order is ready, they call your name. If I could give them a zero for service, I would! There were plenty of employees working there to handle the number of customers. Not a hello, or thank you or what else... these women have no business working in service! They forgot our BBQ sauce, so my husband went back to the window to ask for it No one was waiting... no one around...just us. One large girl was draped over the front counter just chilling...one girl was facing towards the window handling food...one lady with a ponytail kept walking back and forth in front of the window not doing anything. After standing at the window for 5 minutes and their totally ignoring him, he finally tapped on the window, thinking they just didn't see him. But, I was parked right in front of the window and saw the whole interaction. Girl, handling food saw him and told other 2 he was there...the large girl didn't move an inch...the pacing lady looked at the window and walked off. The girl handling food said something again... then the ponytail lady comes to the window and tells the large girl to see what he wanted. She opened the window and didn't say, "Can I help you...just stared at him... he says you forgot to give us our BBQ sauce. She closed the window without a word. Says something to the ponytail lady who gets us the BBQ sauce opens the window, hands it to him, and slams the window shut without a word! The BBQ sandwich was good, but it couldn't make up for the sorry service. The owner needs to clean the house! I really should have counted how many times these girls slammed that stupid window

Was a little disappointed; after hearing great reviews & raves about the food, we went this evening shortly before they closed (which may be part of the problem). However, the food had literally NO TASTE whatsoever. My daughter and I both ordered the chopped barbeque brisket sandwich and it was served on a COLD bun that wasn't toasted AT ALL and even with the sauce that we were given, it literally had no taste whatsoever. My grandson got the double meat plate (sliced pork and sliced brisket) and he said it wasn't that great either. We went because we had heard about the dining room being decorated in Astros memorabilia, which from what we could see, that part was true (Dining room closes at 4:00), so we had to order our food at the window outside and take it to go. Again, it was 6:30-6:45 pm when we arrived & they close at 7:00, so that may be part of the problem but I don't know that I would go back again. The girl that took our order seemed nice enough.

I came because I wanted a nice juicy barbecue pork sandwich. I will admit that there was a lot of pork on the sandwich but every last bit of it was so incredibly dry and overcooked that I only ate a few fork pools. I grew up working in my aunt's smokehouse and barbeque restaurant so I know what barbecue is supposed to be. I always loved pork barbecue because it was so incredibly moist but this is the driest meat I have ever been served. I specifically requested extra sauce on my sandwich but the sauce is so bad I'm glad that they didn't give me what I ordered. I did go back and request more sauce which is 25 cents for a tiny little cup and I got two cups. But it has a very strong vinegar taste and was not at all to my liking. For my sides I chose coleslaw and potato salad the only third option being beans. The potato salad wasn't bad except that there was way too much black pepper in it. Likewise the coleslaw wasn't bad it was just also very dry. The place was clean and the service was good but the food was....
